SR 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project
The State Route 11 (SR 11)/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project (OME POE) is a joint venture between SANDAG and Caltrans, in collaboration with state and federal partners in the U.S. and Mexico, to create a 21st century border crossing for the San Diego-Baja California mega-region that will enhance regional mobility and fuel economic growth and binational trade.

Unprecedented Expansion and Modernization of the Regional Ports of Entry
The two busiest border crossing areas in our region are undergoing investment and construction on a scale never before seen on a U.S. border. Overall, more than $1 billion is being spent by the U.S. and Mexico to dramatically expand and modernize the San Ysidro/El Chaparral and Otay Mesa crossings.
